Reactionary Rambling Bashes Israel!
What deterrence is not

-just realized that the previous post did not fully reconstitute the aborted blog of Jan. 16(Real Blunders etc.). Suicide bombers will not(and obviously have not)be deterred by anything like the tit-for-tat-try-to-spare-civilian responses meted out by Israeli governments. I don't have at fingertips the body count ratios of Israeli deaths over "Palestinian" deaths but it is surely a low, albeit greater than one, number. A policy of exacting a ratio of say, 1000 to one(this would, at least exceed the ratio of Jews to some one billion Moslems or 300 million Arabs), might not be a sufficient deterrent, but hell, it's a good starting point. As to why the West is so reluctant to understand that a war against our civilians might make a war against the Islamic civilians both necessary and sufficient, one could, well, write volumes. Suffice it to note for now that, icky tho it was, we, as a nation were able to at least contemplate the annihilation of most Soviet citizens(most of whom, one supposes, were peaceful, law-abiding blah,blah, blah. It is disappointing that what little has been written on NRO seems to have done by er, Kirwood Derby. (Hey, I'd be glad to cite *real* Americans(just kidding, Derb)if they would more often join the fry-em-up fray(VD Hanson comes close at times but "close" counts only in horse shoes, hand grenades and H-bombs))
Fer cryin' out loud, doesn't anyone *else* have raging reveries of a "sea of flames" consuming vast numbers of Palestinian funeral "mourners"? -guess I'm falling for the delusions of solitude alluded to earlier, given that JD's "alternative reality" piece probably resonated with a *lot* of readers. C'mon, you other guys at NRO. -oops, almost forgot about Ann Coulter(who has been largely forgotten about at NRO). Wel, she's vicious and malicious, and, of course, I enjoy her stuff immensely.
-reminds me though of a long delayed piece ah've been afixin' to write(and thereby shoring up a fair and er, unbalanced persona)- *contra* Coulter about an incident wherein "Tailgunner Joe" *did*go after an innocent person. -Later, Dudes.
