Watch On The Swine
Or: A new level of lying by Democrats?

Good stuff by Robert Locke on VDARE today which echoes(Me? Arrogant? Yaaarrrrhh!) previous blogs here and on NRO: "In other words, America's superior living standard, created by over 300 years of hard work, scientific genius, and good economic policy on the part of Americans, doesn't really belong to us. We may have built it, but it really belongs to the whole world."
And: "As put in William Hawkins's excellent 1994 book on the open-borders conspiracy, Importing Revolution,
"The solution? Increase immigration, especially that of undocumented, illegal workers. The Communist Party, USA, in its publication, Political Affairs: Theoretical Journal of the Communist Party USA, understands well the cause-effect relationship of this: "undocumented workers in any work... have the effect of depressing wages and lowering the quality of working conditions." In other words, CPUSA and its fellow travelers suggest that, in order to "save" workers, the working class must first be destroyed through declining wages and living standards!"
One might ask, "Er, that's uh, interesting, REACTIONARY, but who really gives a rat's sphincter about the moribund CPUSA?" Well, I really do like a certain class of commies;those that have at least some personal integrity that allows them to realize just why they promote certain policies. I suspect that they use parts of the brain which tend to produce rational thought and which are denied consciousness by many Left-Liberals. Conservatives relish too much the observation that much "Liberal" thought is irrational, not realizing that apparent irrationality can have a kind of survival value, or to put it another way, an underlying sociobiologically based rationality. Or to flog much earlier posts, lies, useful for struggles within the small groups from which we evolved, are more effective(for deceiving others and assauging one's conscience)if we believe them ourselves.
The above is why a line from the demonizing (oooooh-look-irony)coprophagic tub of excrement known as Molly Ivins yesterday is worth a look: "There are, of course, some jobs that cannot be exported-farms cannot be moved to another country, nor can restaurants[nor can *many* other jobs, f*ckface]. So the president proposes to import foreign workers legally to fill those jobs." That obviously doesn't fit the above Leninist "the worse, the better" strategy. And, no doubt, doesn't jibe with what I recall has been been some bashing of opponents of massive immigration by the "irrational," and incapable of introspection, Ivins.
It *does* suggest at least a small possibility that Bush's proposal for de facto amnesty(the recent back-peddling is welcome)may allow a Democratic candidate to get some small percentage(and Presidential elections are often decided by small percentages)of votes by making some noises that "run to the right" of Bush on immigration. -not that any such noises would be translated into effective policies; most leading Democrats are too much embroiled in a civil war against Republicans to pass on the advantages to them of continued massive hostile to Republican third world immigration.
Hell, I *would* vote for a Democrat who was serious about deporting(and severely punishing those who try to use deportation proceedings as a revolving door) illegal immigrants and drastically curtailing legal immigration(at least of those who hate our guts). -no matter if that candidate wanted a nasty totalitarian Canadian-style single-payer health plan(I favor universal coverage via age and sex adjusted premium vouchers financed by a separate flat tax), nationalization of, I dunno, the "steel industry,"(haven't heard that one in a while, and the bastards would have trouble defining the limits of said industry) or favored abortion up to a "fetal" age of 21 years. (just *kidding,* kids)
