strange stuff happens when you paste from aol 5.0 using a Mac. Mel, Rose, Place was not "published" for a long time and a spell-check abetted substitution of baccarat for "backcourt" was corrected but doesn't show up yet.
More crap this week on Minnesota's Scandinavian "heritage": The state of Minnesota and Scandinavian-based foreign firms are both touted for their "creativity" and this is taken as evidence that attracting creative people is more important than having low tax rates. Hypothetical arguments that Scandinavia would be even more prosperous without confiscatory top tax rates are indeed hypothetical, but should be made nonetheless. I have only anecdotal evidence that more people from Sweden would emigrate to the United States if its quota were lifted(and haven't the foggiest if those quotas have in fact been filled), but if substantial numbers of the most productive people of Western Europe were willing and able to emigrate to the United States this could put a brake on the genocidal and totalitarian policies of europe's social democrats. And as pointed out before, the old policy of basing national immigration quotas on the then current proportion of national or ethnic groups already in the U.S. was *not* racist. Rather it was the subsequent policies that led to ethnic change that were/are racist, if not genocidal. This is *not* a matter of opinion. Whether or not the annihilation of honkeys and Western Civ is a good thing; now *that's* a matter of opinion.
