Bush's Bravado and Johnny Bravo
(Thanx to JG for lampooning Kerry's phony Brady* Bill O' Goods)

Kerry twisted Bush's words to the point of lying when he quoted him as saying that he was "not that concerned" about OBL. Bush let that(somewhat justifiably unanticipated)grotesque distortion twist in the wind and can be forgiven for having forgotten making the statement. Leaving aside the real differences(or as real as can be adduced from Kerry's megabytes of opportunistic back-stabbing flip-floppies -well outlined by other writers)with respect to the appropriate scope of the war on terror, anyone not deranged by anti-Bush hatred will recognize after a nanosecond or so of reflection that Bush's comments reflect a moment of a (meant-to-rally) *bravado*. Suppose that in the closing weeks of WWII in Europe President Truman had said something like, "I don't know where Herr Hitler is hiding. Is he hunkered in a bunker in Berlin? Is he looking pale or thin? Is he whimpering in his "Wolf's Lair"? Do we care? Does even Dewey care? *I* don't care. Most of his best divisions have been smashed and the Allies are racing through the guts of the very 'fatherland' of the "Third Reich" like a dose of salts."

-'nuff said.
