Marconi, Marconi - Baloney!*
Or: "Losing My Religion"
Or: Homeland Improvement?
Or: "Toys in the Attic"**

Some of the "sore loser" Democrats are sounding a little like John Belushi's "Bluto" in "Animal House":"Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!" When "Otter" then said, "Germans?" he was shushed with, "He's rolling."
John Derbyshire published a Brit's depressing observations on the effects of the abandonment of traditional morality by clerical and secular leaders and classes. And JD the soon-to-be-wired warrior also noted that some of those who have gone "wireless"(with the passing of the British Empire, one supposes that "going native" now refers to programming by "code warriors")have made of that a religion. What seemed to be a clever retort vanished after a nanosec of reflection -which was confirmed via Google that "What hath God wrought!" cameth from Morse; not Marconi. While not religious about it, I'm pleased by the high-speed wireless set up here with ridiculous ease by not-too-computer savy me. I'd like to add another computer to the network, but the wife seems to think that one computer per member of the household is enough. One hopes that the Derb's project doesn't come to resemble that of the strange case of a wealthy woman who believed that she wouldn't have to sign out of her mortal coil as long as she continued to build additions to her mansion.
And not that the brilliant polymath needs to "keep up" with anyone, or is losing his religion, but some of REM's lyrics come to mind:

"That's me in the [C]orner
That's me in the spotlight
Losing my religion
Trying to keep up with you
And I don't know if I can do it
Oh no I've said too much
I haven't said enough
I thought that I heard you laughing
I thought that I heard you sing
I think I thought I saw you try"

*-don't suppose that the classic Popeye episode with the "hate speech" of "Salami, Salami -Baloney!" could be broadcast today...

**as in *Aerosmith*, not "Arrowsmith"- unfortunately, I, unlike Derbywire, have no attic, and have probably never been compared to Dr. A.
