A post about nothing -nothing atoll
Or: Yellow Sponge, you sit all alone like me....
Of no particular interest to nobody nowhere nohow are some memories bubbling up after reading Davey Derb's review of the Spongebob movie(filmed in Cinemaperiscope?). My old man didn't seem to be much for music but for some reason bought a John Gary album or two. That memory is somehow linked to his love of the movie "Windjammer"(1958-filmed in "Cinemiracle") even though Professor Google suggests that none of Gary's(the singer-not the snail) stuff was on its soundtrack.
My wife keeps bugging me to go on a Carribean cruise(having gone without me on a couple in recent years-no emails from cabin boys to my knowledge thus far...), although she might come to regret that if I lurch into "Yellow bird, up high in banana tree-you sit all alone like me" or if, exceeding a daily ration of grog and feeling despondent, "Yellow turd, you're sh** all alone like me...."
I haven't taken the 10 year old to see Spongebob, the movie, but suspect that it does suffer from the absence of Derb's favorite dreckapod. (One would have expected him to be more interested in a *S*uperconducting *Q*uantum *I*nterference *D*evice.) And thatthe character of Spongebob's employer fails to supply needed crabbitas.
-And nice take-off on Keats' Homer/Chapman poem by the Derbybard. Given the lack(probably deserved)of positive feedback on my own efforts, I haven't done much lately. Tho I still, like Bill Cosby, "marvel at myself" for having penned "To Autumn in Big Sur."(archives nromirror.blogspot.com Sept 02, 2003) And hey, do ya' think it's *easy* to come up with such "feminine rhymes" as the one with which it endeth:
"To fend off munchies go not without your Pez;
Cast stones at condors, beak in carrion,
And swell our guts, and be with stout Cortez,
Stoned,
Silent, upon a peak in Darien."
