Every once and awhile I should remind myself why I continue this thankless effort: If we(the West)have any right to existence whatsover, then the overwhelming majority of Muslims deserve death. That the extermination of Muslims would involve the death of the trivial number of "innocent" Muslims should be a trivial concern. We should only be deterred -not indefinitely deterred- by concerns about the effects of radioactive fallout on some non-Muslims. And given the support given to the old Soviet Union by elected officials representing a largely Hindu population, and the continuing efforts by China to strengthen the military arm of Islam, the people of China and India have no *moral* basis to complain about any collateral damage short of annihilation inflicted upon them.
(The execution of over a billion Muslims might not mean that China won't still become the dominant global power of the last half or so of the 21rst century. The decline of the West relative to East Asia is being accelerated by Islam's war against the West. And at this time it is at least questionable whether we have the right and obligation to exterminate the non-Muslim people of the East simply because their possible coming pre-eminence puts our existence at risk.)
We were justified in not exterminating the peoples of Germany and Japan because they essentially ceased their war against us after the surrender of their governments. We were justified in not exterminating the people of the USSR and the PRC because their attacks(and those of their domestic proxies) on our civilian population and infrastructure were tolerable, and because the USSR possessed a meaningful nuclear deterrent-the use of which would have put *our* continued existence in jeopardy.
The VDHs and Derbyshires know all of this to be true(or at least as propositions unassailable(or at least unassailed, thus far) without resorting to argument based, not upon logic, but upon religion or something like it)-to the the extent they allow themselves to think about the above at all. They might also underestimate the number(and crucial importance in maintenance of morale and effort)of citizens who realize those truths-however brief are their posts on websites-arguing for the treatment of Fallujah et al like Dresden and so forth. John Derbyshire once mused that our descendants might thank us if we unleased our nukes. I'll have to try to find his reasons for not doing so, but suspect they were transcendant or insubstantial.
I am truly sorry that I seem to have been correct with respect to fearing that Iraqi Muslims(and Muslims worldwide)who support the establishment of a state which is both democratic *and* non-jihadist are *far* weaker than those Vietnamese who opposed messianic communism. It may be too late, but if our fearless leaders were to rebuild(yes, you can never have 'nuff nukes)our nuclear and chemical and bio - weapons and discuss openly the extermination of Muslims(sorry, Ann, converting them doesn't seem practical), there is at least a chance that the minds of Muslims would be wonderfully concentrated. We owe them -and our posterity- at least that much.
