Slow day for news yesterday and had trouble transfering emails to Blogger- a day late 'n all that:

Not what you're looking for, but Professor Google confirms my recollection that "The Dozens" is a verbal contest invented or popularized largely by urban black youth wherein insults regarding the opponent's mother are exchanged- eg. "Your mother is so fat that when she dances, she makes the *band* skip!"
