Common Ground With Democrats?

Inspired by Ott and the new Era of Good Feelings which has dawned on the comments thread, I recently interviewed, not a member of the Democratic elite, but an ordinary "man on the street.":
Me[asking neutral, bias-free question]: The Bush administration is widely regarded, both at home and especially abroad, as militaristic and inimical to civil liberties and international law. Should thoughtful citizens express principled opposition, if not actual hatred, towards his cabinet -which is universally considered to be made up exclusively of toadying "Yes" men and women?
Dude: Yeah, sure...I guess...I mean- if they serve that Bush dude, they gotta' be like fascists, right? And...whoa...Dude, is that like, a Mr. Microphone?
Me:[covering up logo on mic]No.
Dude:I used to play with one of those for like, hours at a time, Man. And when it broke, I took it apart...made a great bong. Uh, where was I, Dude? Lemme see now...there's the the [giggles] Colon Powell dude, John [giggles] ASScroft, and the Rice chick....and..uh,...need a little help here, dude...
Me[clutching an ear bud]: Well, there's....um..uh...excuse me...What?....I'm sorry, Sir...we seem to be out of time...Back to you Don Pardo.....

I truth I love all of Bush's cabinet. It's just that I love some of them differently than the others. Take Secretary of Transportation Norman "Stormin' Manzanar"* Mineta...[snare drum]....please. Some of his statements and policies have left me, well, agape**.

*Look it up, if necessary, or better yet, read Michelle Malkin's In Defense of Internment.
** Greek is like, uh, greek, to me, but you all remember your catechism or confirmation classes, don't you?
