"Eeecchhhht!" Deutsch?
Or: Bury My Wounded Heart Under Mpundu Tree

Re the Corners "ST. VALENTINE'S CANDY FOR THE REST OF YOU [John Derbyshire]
Possibly that chap in Kenya who ate his wife's heart was inspired by that "Demotivators" line of candy Kathryn linked to earlier (which a friend in Michigan passed along too)."

-haven't blogged much here lately and don't have anything worthwhile writing but that's never stopped me before.
Professor Google confirms that I was surely not the first to wonder if Kenya's former leader said, "l etat c'est (Arap) Moi."
And maybe the urban-dwelling Kenyan Masai cannibal mentioned by Derbychef thought his wife to be easier prey than the traditional lions of his ancestors. That europeans might be much more civilized about this sort of thing is suggested by the recent case of someone who apparently consented to be eaten by his fellow kraut.
For those who prefer to believe that Man is worth more than the stuff of which he is made -and not to get all mushy here- let's not forget that a faithful attendant carried Dr. Livingstone's embalmed corpse on a very long and I, er, presume, perilous journey. The body was interned in England, with the exception of the heart of the missionary and passionate opponent of slavery which was buried under a mpundu tree....
