A Forgotten Victory
Hmmm....that rings a "Belle"...
No, not the flurry of Corner Posts of Yore about FCUK perfume -the brilliant poetry inspired by the attempt of some Floridians to ban the obscuration of outdoor advertising by unsightly members of the Vegetable Kingdom: I think that I shall never see a tree as low as Burma Shave....
Loveliest of ads the billboard now, Is hid by leaf and wretched bough- No longer brightens my commute- The trees and seas and King Canute. Sigh...the response to my poetry has been so underwhelming that I haven't the heart to pen an ode to the football great Knut Rockne, however much the temptation to rhyme something with "punt". Oh, and I suppose one could celebrate September 25 -you know- the date of the last English victory *ever* (in 1066).*
*a disastrous misspelling would be "Stuttaford Bridge"
