Green Flag Soldiers? Shia & Sunni "Citizens"?

I don't usually have to work on Thursday evenings which doesn't help the foul mood here as I wonder- again- if I've come across as a flaming asshole-something like Mark Russell -without the piano-playing skills. And I forgot to add a caveat to the previous post("NPR Passes The Sniff Test"-OK with regards to Chandler Burr) about NPR with respect to its coverage of the arrest and murder of Tibetans fleeing Greater China. As has been observed in cases of icky things done elsewhere by powers other than us, the Left likes to prattle about human rights in China because we have little strategic interest in Tibet and little or no intention in intervening there. One hopes that given our inability to stop civil war in Iraq, Bush has no intention of putting boots (or, more accurately, targets) on the ground in Darfur in an attempt to stop Muslim-on-Muslim violence. Also, someone might want to point out to Jonah that while there might be plenty of food in parts of the world, that obesity isn't rampant in Darfur and that its skies have not been cloudy all day for so long that it's hard to think of a discouraging word for Malthus right now.
With respect to "Green Card Soldiers" it's reasonable to suspect that while some will temporarily bond with American comrades ala small unit cohesion, for most, the er civil union with Uncle Sam is a marriage of convenience -likely to be consummated by buggering the ol' trusting soul after discharge.
What might be even worse than the above would be, as noted by someone blogging for VDARE(can't remember if it was by one of its sane or one of its *in*sane scribblers), we might be host to a veritable flood of Iraqi ditch-jockey dickwadis -those who didn't put up much of a fight for "democracy" in their own pesthole- and possibly millions of their unstable and rarely inspected, fast-breeder dependents. To be Sharia- I mean -sure, some will claim to "love America" -and want only "equality" and "respect" (read: submission by us dhimmis) and that their only quibble with us are "differences over foreign policy." Yep, just healthy debate over whether or not the Great and Little Satans should be annihilated slowly or quickly -along with Jews worldwide. I'm trying to think of that other term for "differences over foreign policy"....wait -....it's coming to me.....WAR.
[I should qualify the rant about Iraqis. While some years ago I blogged that our popular support in Iraq would likely be much weaker than what we had in Vietnam(there were some powerful anti-communist sentiments as well as a good deal of anti-anti-Catholicism in the South- as opposed to the Arab con-artists and Quislings likely to side with us), some polls in that rocky cradle of civilization suggest that a majority of its citizens really do prefer a democratic government and would presumably be happy to live without Al Qaida types as well as WMDs. I recall a couple of years or so the Iraqi President(?-don't remember the name of the guy at the time)actually encouraging rumors of the shooting(some by him, personally)of prisoners. And who knows? Perhaps if we had tried aiding and abetting something like "Operation Phoenix," it mighta' worked for awhile- or at least long and well enough to have declared victory and gotten out. Of course as noted by John Derbyshire and Mark Krikorian, we, or at least our elites, don't have the stomach for that anymore. It's tempting to think, as suggested by JD, of handing "over the keys." But to whom? And we are doing next to nothing to lock up our own sovereignty. It's hard to say to whom we'll bow and scrape the most -the Chinese or the Muslims. Maybe we'll buy some time if they fight amongst themselves. -Or maybe they'll work something out -like putting up signs around exclusive race tracks that read:

NO DHIMMIS OR CAUCASIANS.*
